Muir HR1600 Cougar Compact Windlass

The Cougar is a highly trusted mid-range model designed for recreational, fishing, and commercial vessels.
  • Vessel Length Suitability: Ideally fits boats from 29 to 42 feet (9 to 13 meters).
  • Power & Performance: Features a 1000W heavy-duty motor available in either 12V or 24V DC configurations.
  • Load Capacity: Delivers a maximum pull/load of 1,200 lbs (545 kg) with a safe working workload of 275 lbs (125 kg).
  • Line Speed: Fast retrieval rates up to 46 feet per minute (14.5 meters/min).
  • Rode Compatibility: Equipped with a combination gypsy capable of handling chain-only setups or rope and chain combinations (typically matching 1/4″ to 3/8″ chain alongside 1/2″ to 5/8″ rope).

Muir HR2500 Cheetah Compact Windlass

The Cheetah is the scaled-up, heavy-duty big brother to the Cougar, engineered for larger boats requiring substantially more hauling power.
  • Vessel Length Suitability: Designed for mid-to-large vessels from 42 to 55 feet (13 to 17 meters).
  • Power & Performance: Upgraded to a beefier 1200W motor (12V or 24V DC).
  • Hydraulic Option: Unlike the smaller HR1600, the HR2500 can be ordered as a hydraulic-driven unit (operating at 1450 PSI / 10MPa) for heavy commercial or continuous-use applications.
  • Load Capacity: More than doubles the hauling capability with a maximum pull of 2,500 lbs (1,136 kg) and a safe working workload of 625 lbs (283 kg).
  • Line Speed: Reaches line speeds up to 48 feet per minute
